NGS Collaboration Board
The NGS is forming a Collaboration Board as part of changes to its governance structure.
The Collaboration Board will provide a mechanism by which resource exchanging (partner or affiliate) NGS member institutions can guide and influence the NGS and the services it provides to UK academia. The Collaboration board will have representation from all resource providing member institutions of the NGS and a direct line of communication to the NGS Project Board established via a set of regional representatives.
Membership Process
Each member institution is required to nominate a single representative who will be required to attend meetings of the board (at most 4 per year). The individual members should have an institutional view of the national e-infrastructure that their institution requires and as such are able to guide the NGS to provide suitable underpinning services.
To ensure that organisations and the NGS have flexibility in representation to the Collaboration Board the following applies:
• New nominations may be made at any time during the period and will supersede previous nominations.
• Should there be an extended period of non-attendance then the NGS may ask for re-nomination to occur.
The nomination template should be used (as available below) and returned to the NGS on institutional headed paper signed by a senior member of institutional management. For example, in the case of an HEI, the Pro-Vice Chancellor for Research. Having reached a quorum, the Collaboration Board has now started holding meetings to have their say in the running of the NGS.
